YEAR END AWARDS
At the end of the swimming year, CPWD swimmers and their families are invited to attend an Awards night. A number of awards are presented including the Universal Personal Best Award. The award is a trophy about the size of the forearm (wrist to elbow). The Universal Personal Best Award is given to any competitive swimmer who has achieved a personal best time in all events assigned to their group. This award is the easy to earn since the athlete is not competing against anyone other than themselves. The award is also the hardest to earn since the athlete must continually work hard to improve skills in all strokes and do well in events outside their “comfort zone”. In addition to working hard the swimmer must select and swim the events listed, at some point during the year, at a meet or time trial.
