Cancelled Workouts

A reminder that all CPWD swim workouts are cancelled Saturday, May 19th and Monday, May 21st, 2012 due to the holiday weekend.

We are still in need of volunteers to manage the sale of t-shirts and heat sheets during Long Course Regionals which is held June 1-3, 2012 at the Nepean Sportsplex. This is a perfect opportunity for those needing to earn points towards their volunteer commitment with the Water Dragons. Students needing community service hours are also welcomed. Please contact our President, Nathaly Houston or see the sign-up sheet on the CPWD bulletin board.

Wishing everyone a safe and wonderful weekend.

CPWD Volunteers Required

Session Times

As the swim season is quickly coming to an end and with very few opportunities left to volunteer, we are inviting parents to earn some points towards your volunteer commitment.

Our club has been appointed to manage the sale of heat sheets and t-shirts at this year’s EOSA Long Course Regional Championship Meet (June 1-3, 2012) which is being held at the Nepean Sportsplex. This will be conducted with a team of 2 people per 4 hour session earning 5 points per session. This three day meet will require up to 6 volunteers per day. This is also an opportunity for students requiring community service hours to earn some time. See the attached document for available times.

To volunteer contact Nathaly Houston or sign up on the CPWD bulletin board.

Our Officials need us and without them we would not have meets!

Montreal 2012 International Xtraslush Swim Meet

Last year CPWD attended a meet at the Parc Jean-Drapeau pool in Montreal. It is a 50m outdoor pool with stands for many spectators. All participants enjoyed the meet. This year we hope to stay in a hotel just one metro (subway) stop from the pool.

Meet management has just announced that the P1 and P2 qualifiers will swim June 15 to
17, 2012. Developmental qualifiers will swim on June 16, 2012.

The meet packages are not available yet.

However, in order to participate in this meet a “reservation fee” of $10.00 for each
participant must be sent to the host club. This deposit is not refundable, but will be
deducted from the meet fees.

This meet is a long way off so swimmers who have not yet qualified may provide a
deposited fee in the hope of achieving the qualifying times in April or May.

The deposit fee is due Wednesday Mar 7, 2012.
